Royal Waliyah's story started with my converted sister's daily quest for a hijab that offers both comfort and elegance. I saw the struggle that my sister regularly experienced in finding the perfect hijab. Every time she bought a new one, she had a complain about it: it was too smooth, too heavy, not breathable enough, deafening, too warm or did not stretch enough, so that the roundness of the face did not appear nicely. I heard from my sister that she was certainly not the only one with this problem.

I wanted to do something to tackle this problem. I also have the necessary experience in the world of fashion and fabrics (I have been the owner of a women's streetwear webshop for many years) and I felt like taking on this interesting challenge. So I went to investigate. I have delved into the world of the hijab-wearing Muslim women and received a lot of input and feedback from them. This led me to the final conclusion that my hijab should fit every Muslim woman of any nationality perfectly, in other words, the perfect hijab. Which requirements must they meet? In summary, I came up with the following words: comfort and elegance, presented/represented in the name Royal Waliyah, or Royal Princess. I think that Muslim women should feel like a princess. I have great respect for those who have to overcome daily struggles to stay authentic and true to their principles. Those are the qualities I value so much in my sister.
